Monte Bisbino TRAIL

Nestled in a truly unique setting where lake and mountains meet within just a few kilometers, our territory offers an all round experience to anyone eager to enjoy outdoor sports.

This is your chance to explore a stunning corner of nature, in some areas still completely untouched.

Starting and finishing in Piazza Risorgimento, right next to Cernobbio’s charming lakeside harbor, the Monte Bisbino Trail (MBT) guides runners from one of Lake Como’s most iconic locations all the way to the summit of Monte Bisbino at 1,325 meters above sea level.

For centuries, Monte Bisbino marked the border between Italy and Switzerland and was one of the strategic sites of the Cadorna Line fortifications during World War I. True to the spirit of A.S.D. ARIES COMO ATHLETIC TEAM, this event combines the thrill of sports with the fascination of history, offering participants an experience that goes far beyond physical effort.

The race features two self‑supported routes: a short course of approximately 13 km – more technical and dynamic – and a long course of about 26 km – technical but smoother.

From Cernobbio, the trail climbs toward Asnigo and follows the direttissima up to Monti di Duello, a stunning viewpoint overlooking the first basin of Lake Como. The ascent then continues to the summit, where-on clear days-runners can enjoy breathtaking Alpine views.

The routes split at the top: the short route drops into a technical, demanding yet thrilling descent, followed by a scenic traverse leading back to the finish line. The long route continues toward the Bugone and Murelli huts, the Roccolo and the picturesque San Bernardo chapel-one of the most panoramic spots above the lake.

An undulating trail through partially unspoiled natural surroundings which, on clear and sunny days, reveals postcard‑worthy scenery of remarkable beauty

This is not a trail for everyone-effort is guaranteed. But reaching the finish line will reward you with an unforgettable sense of achievement.
